In Palau, there was a time when nobody worried about rubbish. A banana peel or a fish bone thrown on the ground simply went back to the earth.
"We're used to waste where we throw it and it disappeared," said Hon. Steven Victor, Palau's Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and the Environment, at a Pre-COP31 side event in Fiji.

Pacific Leaders and global partners are advancing a shared regional commitment to strengthen access to climate and disaster resilience financing, with new contributions towards the Pacific Resilience Facility (PRF) announced during the Pacific Pre-COP31 meetings in Nadi, Fiji.
